Take a bike and appreciate the diversity of natural resources in Thailand at a slower pace. In the north, mountain biking is the way to go. There, winding roads and switchbacks, combined with off-road trails, make for adrenaline-boosting tours lasting from a few days to a week.
The casual cycling enthusiast intimidated by steep mountains doesn’t have to put the brakes on their hobby. Many towns and parks rent bicycles, as do many historic sites. But if you don’t mind the challenge, mountain biking tours also come with a variety of value-added bonuses: stopovers at hot springs and waterfalls and hill tribe villages.
