In this episode of Thai-licious, we are still at the Four Seasons Resort, Chiang Mai. Instead of starting in the kitchen, I wanted to give you a preview of the Four Seasons’ sticky rice field. In fact, they grow several of the ingredients used in the food.
Viewers also get a special look at the workers while walking along the rice field with a little bit of music celebrating the end of their day. Making for a fun release after a long day at work.
The talented Chef Anchalee Luadkham again returns to teach us another famous northern Thailand dish called nam prik ong. She really puts me to work in this episode. I’d like to think I made her proud with the finished dish.
The smashing of the ingredients to make the paste is harder than it looks, especially if you don’t have the same materials as Chef Anchalee. As someone who cannot handle a high tolerance of spice, I would have to put less pieces of the dried bird eye chili in to the mix of ingredients.
Our words won’t be able to do this dish justice. As a good alternative, watch the latest episode below and you can download the recipe here: Nam Prik Ong recipe.
