Thailand is one of the top coffee producers in the world, and it’s not hard to get your caffeine fix whether it be from a street market or a high-end coffee shop. While many local and foreign owned coffee shops have sprung up all over the country, Bangkok is without a doubt home to the best coffee shops in Thailand. Here are a few of our favorite locations in Bangkok, which are great to grab a delicious cup of joe, a tasty snack, or settle down and get some work down on your laptop. This list is perfect for digital nomads or traveling coffee lovers!
Rocket Coffeebar
Relatively new to the Bangkok coffee shop scene, Rocket Coffeebar has made a name for itself with its original menu of brilliant brunches, delicious cocktails and plain old, good coffee. The best things about Rocket Coffeebar are that the service is friendly and professional, the venue itself is nice and simple, and there is plenty of seating. Whether you’re in the mood for a meal, a cocktail or just a good coffee; Rocket Coffeebar on Soi 12 Sathorn, Silom is the place to be. Whilst their coffee menu might not be as extravagant and loaded with syrups and extras as your closest Starbucks, they never fail to disappoint.

Cafe Velodome
Located on the eastern side of Thammasat University, Cafe Velodome has become a popular meeting point for Bangkok’s trendy cycling community. While its menu of coffees and snacks may seem pretty standard, the staff at Cafe Velodome take great care in making sure presentation and consistency is always of the highest quality. Perhaps the best and one of the most popular items on their menu is their signature Espresso Affogato (shot of espresso served over a scoop of ice cream) which makes for a refreshing, yet caffeine-laced treat perfect for any hot day.

Eiah Sae
Whilst it may not look like your average modern, Western style coffee shop, Eiah Sae will always be one of our favorite coffee spots when visiting Bangkok. Located in Chinatown on Yaowarat Road, Eiah Sae serves up traditional Thai coffee and tea, sweetened with sugar and condensed milk (the Thai way!) for as little as 20 baht. Open daily from around 4am, a sweet (yet surprisingly strong) cup of coffee and a couple of slices of their delicious fresh baked Thai toast is a great way to start the day, or end the night, should you happen to find yourself staying nearby.
Coffee Beans by Dao
What really sets apart Coffee Beans by Dao from other coffee shops in Bangkok are its mouth-watering cakes and desserts. The incredible fresh desserts have given Coffee Beans by Dao the reputation as one of Bangkok’s best coffee shops and the opening of multiple stores across the city is testament to the shop’s success. Head on over to their branch at the Central Embassy shopping mall if you want to find out what the fuss is all about!
Ceresia Coffee Roasters
Whenever in Bangkok, a stop at Ceresia’s is high up on our list of must-dos. As such, Ceresia Coffee Roasters is more of a small coffee roasting company but they’ve also got a coffee shop where you can sample their delicious, fresh artisanal coffee. The coffee served is seasonal and the staff takes great care to roast it in small batches for the best flavor possible. It’s a great place if you’re not into fancy syrup concoctions and prefer a simple cup of high-end, flavorful brew. We always make sure to leave with a few bags of their coffee beans, which can be purchased and freshly ground for you to take home!
