Thai street food is not only a staple in Thailand, but renowned and loved by foodies all over the world. In fact, Thai street food culture has permeated into the hearts and onto the plates of consumers all across the globe. While Thailand is THE best place to grab authentic street food (well, in our opinion) ranging from savory to sweet, you can find Thai-inspired delights in many international cities. In particular, Los Angeles is home to some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand, whether it be authentic Thai recipes, or new takes on the old classics.
We recently teamed up with the foodie experts at Food Steez to explore some of our favorite spots to grab Thai-inspired street food in LA. Get the low-down on these mouth-watering dishes and treats below, plus learn how YOU can win a trip to Thailand so you can sample Thai street food yourself!

In LA: Snow Monster Thai Ice Tea
Snow Monster offers up a fun take on the classic Thai orange-hued drink: Thai iced tea. Their flavorful teas are made in small batches on site, served up in take-home glass jars, and jazzed up with extra sweetness like cotton candy!
When in Thailand…
“Cha Tra Mue” has been Thailand’s number one Thai tea brand since 1945.
It’s been so popular that in this recent year, Cha Tra Mue has opened various soft-serve ice cream pop-up shops in Bangkok, from Suvanabhumi Airport to Siam Paragon Mall. It’s brand new so the lines are no joke — but a must-try if you are in Thailand’s capital!
In LA: Luv2Eat Thai Bistro Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli
Luv2Eat Thai Bistro features specialties from Southern Thailand that pack a punch with flavor and spice. Chefs Noree Pla and Fern Kaewtathip were friends from Phuket, who wanted to share their passion for Thai cuisine in Los Angeles, opening up the restaurant together in 2014. We love the fresh-cut Chinese broccoli stir-fried with oyster sauce, roasted chili and Chef Pla’s secret recipe homemade deep-fried pork belly.
When in Thailand…
Yaowarat Road or Bangkok’s Chinatown is known to harbor the best crispy pork in all of Thailand.
In the heart of Yaowarat lies “Kuai Chap Uan Photchana” a small family owned restaurant located inside an old-school cinema that has been opened for business for over 50 years. The family’s crispy pork recipe is a well-kept secret that has locals going nuts as they pair them with Chinese broccoli, rice, noodle soups, and many more.
(Yaowarat Rd, Khwaeng Chakkrawat, Chakkaphat, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10100, Thailand – Hours 6PM-3AM)
In LA: Wat Thai Temple Weekend Market
Every Saturday and Sunday starting at ten in the morning, the parking lot of the Wat Thai Temple of Los Angeles is lined with dozens of food stalls where you can grab a variety of authentic Thai dishes and snacks. Here are the ones we featured with Food Steez:
- Pa Thong Ko (Thai-inspired Chinese cruellers, breakfast food, locals usually eat with porridge, hot soy milk, and Thai coffee, pairs with condensed milk or pandan custard)
- Papaya Salad and Grilled Beef
- Mango with Sticky Rice
- Thong Muan Sod (soft rainbow Thai rice flour pancake roll)
